Our daughter went through a faze where she would go around the house saying she thought she was going to to to UNC. Don't get me wrong, UNC is a great school and we would have slightly preferred BYU, but she felt she was being a bit rebellious with stating that intention.

I finally told her that we thought it would be great if she went to UNC. She would get a great education, she would be close by to us, and upon graduation would be much more likely to get a job in the area. We do have a fear of our kids going off to BYU and they spreading across the US and never having them near.

Interesting thing is that once she realized that it was not rebellious to go to BYU, her attitude changed - and that is where she went. Huge blessing for her, she's having a blast, and doing great.
