To be technical, I didn't say that he didn't choke (although I don't think that
he did). I'm saying that I DON'T CARE that he missed the two free throws. He scored enough points to help win the game. That isn't choking.

He still scored in double figures against a defense that was focused on him. That isn't choking.

Because of the defensive focus on Haws he only took 11 shots, which is less than half of his average (which is 24). It is playing in a way to take what the defense gives (i.e. spread it to other players and make the opposing team pay for their commitment to Haws). That isn't choking.

The very fact that he is an 89% free throw shooter means that he is absolutely CLUTCH when it comes to playing basketball. A career isn't built on a single game.

For some to focus on ONE game and use it as an excuse to criticize his whole career, implying that he always chokes in big games, reflects poorly on them. This is especially true where it only APPEARS that Haws played poorly (He still had 10 points, 2 steals, and 4 rebounds against the #3 team in the country) because of how some people have taken for granted his normal play, which is HISTORIC. Such an attitude, IMO, is completely irrational, and bordering on the ludicrous.

Some BYU fans have no idea what they have had over the course of the last few years. I don't understand how some fans cannot simply be happy and enjoy one of the greatest wins in BYU basketball history and be grateful to have one of the best players in BYU history currently playing. Instead they use that win to criticize one of BYU's greatest players. That's simply ridiculous.
