My daughter was just accepted to BYU for fall semester, but two other students at her HS (Pacific NW) were not accepted. One has a 3.975 GPA (took the SAT only and didn't do so hot--equivalent 27 ACT score); the other has a 3.8 and scored 29 on the ACT. Seems that things are tighter than normal this year for admissions. Anyone else know of any similar situations? Could this be due to the increase in students applying/entering this year with the first wave of 18 year-olds returning from missions?
