Most people don't understand that there are 351 CBB teams, with about 10 of
the 32 conferences regularly competing at a high-major level. The WCC is one of those Top 10 conferences. Those are the conferences that usually get multiple bids. The WCC is not at the top end of these 10 conferences (the ACC, Big 10, Big East, and Big 12 are clearly the top 4 conferences in the nation over just about any recent period of time), but it is a Top 1/3 conference, without question. Anyone that doesn't see that, or understand it, doesn't really have a grasp of the college basketball landscape. The WCC has a great TV deal, a lot of tradition, and it's capable of producing a Top 2 seed. Particularly now that it has expanded from 8 teams to 10, it is and will be a multiple bid league, generally speaking.

I see people comparing making the NCAA Tournament to making a bowl game. Unreal. 55+% of the teams in college football play in a bowl game. 19% of college basketball teams play in the NCAA tournament. If you advance to the Round of 32, you're in the Top 9% in the country. Percentage wise, that's comparable to playing in an NY6 game. Playing in the Sweet 16 puts you in the Top 4.5% of teams in the nation. There are entire Top 10 leagues, such as the Big East, Atlantic 10, and the WCC (with the exception of BYU) that don't play FBS football, but produce multiple NCAA and Top 25 teams every season.
