I have a child with a mild learning disability. The public school system was a
nightmare for five years until we finally decided to reorganize our lives to home school him. We're having so much fun with it and he's making rapid progress with one-on-one attention. My only regret is we didn't take this decision years ago. If you enjoy teaching your children, love learning yourself, are a fairly patient person, and can devote 4-5 hours per day (or more if you home school more than one child), do it, especially if your kid is struggling. With us, it just came to the point we realized the public school was doing more harm than good (in the case of this one child).
