While the run and chuck style often frustrates me, our problem hasn't been the offense, which has been run and called by Nashif for the past several years. Our in bounds plays have been a thing of beauty at times, and we score at a high rate off of them. That's all Nashif making those calls. Given that we're a top 5 scoring team, I don't expect Rose to change anything on the offensive end.

You are correct that we need someone who can coach defense. Pope has been in charge of our defense the past few seasons. It's been bad. Pope is well liked by the players and did a good job with Kaufusi. I'm lukewarm on the job he's done with the other bigs (Worthington, Andrus, etc.). I don't see us losing a lot with Pope going. I wish we could have kept him, but the areas of the game he was coaching and in charge of haven't been our strengths.
