My only reservation with Hartsock is I'd really like an assistant who can recruit. I don't think Pope pushed our program to aim higher in its recruiting, but he was mentioned by several of our guys who really made an impression with them. Hopefully Hartsock's up to that task...but I'd prefer a guy with more experience at the recruiting game--& preferably at another institution.

But I think Rose will play it safe. It's my biggest criticism of him. It was well known that Pope had to beg to get hired by Rose as an outsider. Word was Rose wanted to give the head assistant job to an insider, but Pope wouldn't come for anything less than that top spot--& rightly so given his experience.
