Haha. I was excited til you said richland high school.
Anybody that grows up playing ball in the tri cities is playing juan on juan with 5'2" mexican guys on local playgrounds. The big 9 or whatever it is now is not a hotbed for college basketball talent. I live in washington and grew up in north central washington and any time a team from the columbia basin or the big 9 would go to state they would get whooped up on by a western washington or spokane team. Nor do I remember Richland being any good. They were decent in football. I played against them several times in football- there freshman team i swear could have beaten the 49ers. But I think its a stretch to sell this recruit as being special because he played for richland. Back in the day the athletes (the african american ones) in that conference played at Davis high school in Yakima. Loved going to those games for some ally oops and dunks. But I'm skeptical of athletes from high schools in washington. Thats what Jake Heaps will do to an entire state of athletes. Munns too. Come on Washington.
