Awful things?
Listen, I'm not attacking the kids character. Read my post. I want the kid to succeed. He would absolutely destroy me if we played.

My post was a criticism of Rose choosing to offer a scholarship. (Apparently he got a preferred walk-on spot, which I have no issue with and welcome him) When we offer a kid a scholarship and he accepts, another kid loses the opportunity to play for BYU. Watch the tape and compare him to a guy like Jarriesse Blackmon from Layton, who we didn't offer and ended up signing with UC-Santa Barbara. Now Blackmon was a senior this past year and Beo was a junior, but you have to ask. Who would you rather have?

If the kid asked me to my face what I thought of his ability to play at the next level, I'd have no problem telling him where I thought he needed to improve to make an impact.

He's got a nice stroke. He seems to finish well around the basket (though most of the tape available doesn't show him finishing around college sized bigs). He moves without the ball well. He needs to get stronger, improve his first step, and get a tighter handle. There's no tape on his defense, but the word is he's a willing defender, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt there.

Beo's a D1 player, though I feel he's more of a fit for a lower D-1 school. I just feel that if BYU wants to compete for higher goals in basketball, we need to be very judicious in how we use scholarships. We have clearly missed on several guys over the last few years, and it has killed us.
