This is definitely true, and the reimbursement for breakage is worthless.
I'm definitely not saying anyone should call the EQ, as I hate the thought of doing that. But thinking that your stuff would be any better off with a moving company is very wrong. In fact, the EQ probably knows you well enough to try and be more careful.

But when the movers arrived, I actually saw a tall stack of boxes topple over, and numerous things were broken.

If people really can't afford a few thousand for a move, call your friends and family before the EQ.
