I don't think it necessarily even starts as greed, though.
Knowing my friends, I wouldn't have called them greedy. Ambitious, yes, but kind and willing to give to others. But the MLM does sell greed, and they bought into that. It became greed when they had they facade of success presented to them, and the promise of huge earnings. now it is in the desperate stage.
