5 games would be nice
I agree with you. I would even take it one step further. I would be happy if the Big 12 would give us a 5 game a year deal like Notre Dame has with the ACC. I would even be ok if the payout from the games favored the Big 12.

I would really like to see the program get to the point where we are playing 9 P5 schools a year as an independent. I would even be ok if that left us with 4 home and 5 away games against the P5s. My gut tells me that we are viewed as somewhere between mid major and P5. I know that winning cures all and if we win, we will be included. But I also recognize that to get inclusion without realignment shifts requires sacrifice. Until a sacrifice like this is made, I don't think we're going to make significant forward progress.

I would love to have a 5 game a year relationship with the B12. Especially if that were to include some level of bowl inclusion. I think a defined relationship with a P5 will serve us well when the next round of changes takes place.

I have to believe that those in charge of scheduling have already proposed a scenario similar to this with the B12. Or at the very least had these discussions internally. I would love to hear how that this idea was discussed and maybe how it was received.

If we were to get more inclusion to the Big 12 beyond multiple football games a year (any kind of offer to joint in part), I say the more the better. All sports would benefit from it. But football I where I feel we need to be willing to make temporary financial sacrifices in order to further the cause.
