football is changing in the right direction.
When Luke was playing a coach was much more likely to play a kid even if he was hurt (and the kid was more likely to beg to play even if he was hurt). That's was just part of football.... the old "if you can walk you can play" mentality.
Unfortunately for Luke he played during a time much less sensitive to a player's health... I'm sure he was begging to play hurt, but in hind sight feels that the adults in the room should have saved him from himself. And I think college football in general agrees.... we need the adults in the room to tell hurt players they need to sit.
