John Walsh is what I recall. Walsh, Shoemaker and Koy were all

class of 1992 recruits, but Paul Shoemaker was leaving on a mission so the main competition for Koy was going to be John Walsh. I heard that Koy was interested but backed off when Walsh committed. All rumor, even back in 1992, but that's the rumor I heard at the time.
