I conducted an interview in a home where the grandmother, the mother, the
granddaughter and the great granddaughter (that is 3 women {generations) and a baby) that had never done a day's work.

They readily admitted they had never worked a day and were receiving welfare and the fathers had no place in their lives. They had no plans of ever working or ever getting off welfare. I assume the youngest will soon follow the example being set for her.

I think it is naïve to believe everyone on welfare doesn't want to be and only benefit if they are committing fraud.

I also think it is stupid to believe everyone on welfare is lazy and glad to be on it. Three are those who are content to take what welfare gives them and have no motivation to ever get off.

I also did an interview where the woman had just taken a taxi to and from the bank to cash her welfare check. At first I thought it was such a waste for a person on welfare to take a taxi and then I wondered how she would get to the bank without a taxi. There was no bus service in her area.
