I feel bad for Charles for several reasons. It sounds like his life is tough and trending downward; his life is barely started and he's dealing with serious legal issues. His dream of college athletics is looking less and less likely, and a national (and unusually morally-inclined) fan base is watching this collapse. It's a nightmarish situation.

That said, I also think that these character flaws have been evident since his experience with the escort. It's been frustrating to see some on CB claim the moral high ground as they attempt to rationalize, minimize, and marginalize West's inappropriate behavior.
