Tulsa World columnist Dave Sittler quoting a Big 12 source in Oct 2011:

"There is some rigidity at BYU in terms of what they will and won't do, Some of it has to do with [LDS Church] rules, and also the way they engage with media partners."

At the time, Tulsa World and SLtrib reported BYUtv rebroadcast rights, 3rd tier rights, Sunday play and possibly a guarantee for number of games on TV. More vaguely it was mentioned on Orangebloods and other midwestern papers at the time that BYU had more issues to resolve and the gist was the TV partners simply didn't want to deal with it.
