Occasional rough 1-2 shifting...was the worst of it. Then the check engine light confirmed a tranny prob (checked also with Oreilly auto parts to plug in their computer). Was told that beyond the fluid being dirty and smelling burnt, there was internal damage as well. He said he thought initially he thought maybe a trans fluid/filter change service might be enough, but after an extended test drive etc, they determined the cause to be deeper than that.
