Looking into the "how many kids are drafted" point further...
Assuming that the stand out draft years are from recruiting classes 4 years earlier, there doesn't seem to be a lot of correlation. BYU had a stellar recruiting class in 2010... Top 30 in the nation, in fact, and we only had one guy drafted in 2014, Kyle Van Hoy. Now, we have to take into account missions, so many of those guys from 2010 wouldn't have a shot to be drafted until 2016. That list includes Toloa'i Ho-Ching, Algernon Brown, Bronson Kaufusi, and Graham Rowley. I would say Bronson is the only high on the radar prospect out of all of them.

Utah, on the other hand, had draft success in 2005, 2010, and 2011, and not a single one of their recruiting classes were top 50 4 years prior... I think you're right. The bigger issue isn't recruiting, it's player development once the players are in the program. Maybe Wintrich will help?
