My wife and I were getting ready to board a flight in Reno and Southwest had that stupid A, B, C crap with no assigned seats. Well, a seasoned Southwest traveler was up at the front of the line with his A pass when Homeland Security threw a wrench in the works. This was a couple years after 9/11 and they pulled 20 or so passengers out of line for extra scrutiny. As a reward for letting Homeland security double check your stuff, they let them board first. Dude had a fit. Arms waving, just giving it to the gate attendant like it was her call and policy. It was embarrassing.
Not a big fan of Southwest, although the pilots and flight crews do a pretty good job with the on plane announcements.
