My personal favorite was throwing a mouse pattern over some of the deep pools at dusk, early dark. I pulled several very large browns out of there that would nail that mouse. I also loved sculpin patterns on the fly rod, especially near the spawn and in early winter.

For the record, I never did have a day getting skunked when using brown pattern rapalas though. Makes me want to get back in Provo and fish some more...
