Opinion question: What scenario would motivate B12 expansion more?

1) BYU making the CFP over a B12 school...

2) B12 left out of CFP and their champion plays BYU in a NY6 game that BYU then wins...

Which would motivate expansion more? Which would motivate expansion that includes BYU as one of the additions?

I think any scenario leaving B12 out of the CFP tends toward expansion

Agree it is more long term monetary decision (TV money), but with CFP perception
