I'm willing to bet there's a belief in the B12
that they were <this close=""> to having two teams in the playoffs. If it weren't for tOSU's blowout of Wisconsin, who knows. I think this is the driving force as to why the want to stand pat. No conference that plays a CCG will ever have two teams that make the playoffs. It's going to take at least one more year of not getting in because another conference's CCG bumped someone over them. They are gambling a little and hoping for a payoff. The problem is, last year was almost a fluke that they had two teams who were still in contention at the end of the season. That's not going to happen again anytime soon. In the meantime, things continue to unravel for the conference.

Also, they don't feel there are any home run candidates available, even though I believe BYU is just that. It's not on the level of a Notre Dame by any means, but it's a better addition than either WV or TCU. Geography is used as a red herring.</this>
