If players weren't going to be suspended they would have cleared them already..
Regarding truecoug1's post, "My thoughts on a possible Nacua suspension, or non-suspension for that matter"
http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=14478191"

I mostly agree with what is being said, but at this late date, I don't see how it's likely that suspensions aren't coming.

If the matter had been resolved internally already, a statement of apology and reconciliation would have been issued, and any controversy would have mostly blown over months ago.

If players are *NOT* going to be suspended and it is announced the week of the game, it will be a big media distraction along with clips of the brawl being re-lived and re-broadcast on all media platforms and even I suspect as part of the pre-game shows leading up to the game. We (BYU) don't need that kind of side-show and distraction.

By waiting until the week of the game I believe it's inevitable that multiple players will be at least suspended part of a game, and I worry that it will be worse than that.

That being said, I too wish that any punishment would have been levied much earlier (or no punishment at all) and that all this would have blown over long ago. Now it hangs over the team's heads and the fans' heads like a dark cloud and is marring what should be a celebratory time as the season starts.
