Eye to eye all the time, just like most teenagers and fathers. But when I lost him while on my mission some of my fondest memories were spent talking about BYU football and basketball. A disagreement or a dead silence could always be broken by talk of how the teams were doing and excitement for upcoming seasons
I got two letters from him before he passed and they were both at least a little about BYU.
I have always appreciated the togetherness and unity BYU has brought in to my life and the bittersweet feelings of all the games good and bad shared with my father and brother.
Fandom runs deeper than the game for a lot of us I know.
Once again sorry for your loss brother. Prayers your way
