It is fairly small. I stayed in Jaco and absolutely loved it.

We were 10 minutes within several very different beaches. It was very low key. They have an incredible national park. There is hiking, white water rafting, zip lines. The flight is shorter. Everything is cheaper, too.

I strongly believe that Costa Rica is more hawaiian than Hawaii at least in the minds of the general population.
