The difference is one of malum in se and malum prohibitum.
Lying and cheating is wrong in itself. It is essentially immoral. Speeding is wrong because of the rule of law. The two are not comparable. Stealing is also malum in se. The whole point of this thread is that you responded more than just saying that it doesn't bug you, but essentially that it shouldn't bug anyone because, when he said he was disappointed, you said, "this is just a traffic infraction. No biggie."
