Holy cow.
Yes, I remember the Anderson/Sjoberg family. Their son Robbie was a little older than me, but a year behind me in school. And Bishop Partridge was my bishop during most of my high school years. Good man, and someone I always look forward to seeing. I think I may even vaguely remember that time in church that you are speaking of. Glad you have good memories of my family. My dad's always been a missionary minded individual and often served as Ward and Stake Mission Leader (back when they had stake level mission leaders.) I also remember the missionaries doing service at the library. I think they usually went through the computers and deleted the porn history. At least, that's what they told me once.

Your experience in the city is very similar to what I went through most of my junior high and high school days. Lots of girls would go out with me once, find out I was a Mormon, and then not go out with me again. It was kind of depressing, and probably a part of why my BYU experience was so important. It was my first time being around active LDS kids who lived the gospel and had fun doing it. Our family always loved the missionaries and many of the Elders who came through were a big influence on me to serve the sort of mission I did. Thanks for being a great example for me!
