Just like last season I don't think beating Ohio State in week one would mean as much as beating them in week 10.
After that first game most of the commentary I heard (from national media not CB) was that Michigan still did not look like a contender. Not much about how good Utah looked because they didn't look good. They were fortunate to get a few costly TOs from Michigan.
In the weeks since, Michigan looks like a completely different team. They are shutting people down on defense and look dominant. Now all of the analysis on them is that they have figured something out and are playing really good football.
I'm sure Utah had something to do with Michigan looking bad in the first game but you can't tell me that if they played this next week that Michigan wouldn't be favored. Even in Utah. Michigan is looking as good as anybody in the country right now and they did not look that way in week 1.
It is possible for a team to not be very good in one week and then get better and better until they turn into a very good team.
