I feel like I've been transported back to 2010.
It wasn't too long ago that we were happy to have Anae back after Doman. Now we are back to complaining about the same thing we wanted Anae fired for five years ago, lack of creativity, too conservative, and too predictable. I don't always love the play calling from Anae, but I try to remember he is playing a Freshman QB that is four months removed from his mission and now down to his fourth string RB and a walk-on. Anae has to simplify things because of the tools he has. I am sure he would love to be a bit more dynamic but he probably knows more of what Tanner can and can't do more than any of us know. He also knows he as a couple of RB's that he can't trust on creative run plays and blitz pick ups. He is also having to do a lot of this on the fly because the outlook looks much different than what it was two months ago.

I get that the offense is sputtering right now, and is frustrating, but let's give it some realistic perspective. It took Anae four games last year to figure it out with C-Stew, and I think it is going to be a bit longer since Tanner hasn't been in the offense as long as Christian was and he doesn't have guys like Lasike to fall back on.
