I do remember the game, and I remember there were quite a few more drives
than just the final one.

1st Half: Punt, FG, Int, punt, punt, FG

2nd Half: Punt, turnover on downs (after an int put us at the Utah 14), TD (19 yard drive), fumble, FG, missed FG.



I'll say it again: relative to expectations entering the game (which had been lowered about as low as they could get), I came away impressed with Heaps. With 20-20 hindsight, it was just another Heaps style game against a quality defense. 1 offensive TD mixed with some FG's, and then a whole lotta nothin' outside of that.

One thing that plagued Heaps his entire collegiate career and reared it's ugly head in that game: he was terrible inside the red zone. 4 trips to the red zone (two of which were gifted to him by the defense) that game and 13 pts. When he wasn't playing UNM, UTEP, NMST, or CSU, that's just how it was.
