Fan in mid/late 70s (Wilson but I was young)
I'm not sure about bronco; in terms of if he's holding BYU football back or if he's maximizing the potential.
His recruiting is not great in my opinion. I don't know how much the HC plays into it but I suspect it's significant. No coach may be able to overcome it, although I think recruiting has plenty of ceiling left. Especially if we get to a P5.
His coaching is stable but rarely spectacular. He gets a lot of wins and keeps BYU near top 30-35.
Lots of head scratchers though.
I expect that he will plan with Holmoe for when he wants to leave and I think that's the right way. I also think he will stay for another couple of years. because I think he's hoping to see them into big12.
