Some fields care about school prestige and others do not. As a general rule of thumb, most non-competitive programs lead to non-competitive jobs aka low paying jobs.

The degree itself isn't very employable. Add in a degree from a school w/ no GRE

Just take the GRE w/o prep. It isn't that hard. Then apply. Grad school is ++
