The guy never really had a major impact on any one individual game outside of maybe Stanford. He never had more than 2 sacks in a given game. He did have 10 tackles once.
So a guy who gets 1 sack per game, generates zero turnovers, and plays for the 2nd to worst defense just doesn't meet the profile of player of the year in my mind.
Compare that to Paul who was over the 10 tackle mark 5 times, created 6 turnovers and collected 3 more, and played for one of the best defenses. I just don't get it. I honestly don't see the other side of the argument at all. I acknowledge that he was a very good player.
