I don't see how that argument makes the most sense or why so many are fixed on it. Going along with what Shimmy said above, you shouldn't compare stats between positions, compare MVP vs best overall performance, measure present performance by future potential in another league. I'll add that you don't judge a performance award by the kind of person someone is... and you shouldn't measure an individual performance award by what the team as a whole did.
