That has ever existed, and they are dumping Star Wars crap out in a way that has never been done before.
You are telling me that What George Lucas did in the 80s compares to the scale of production done today. As you said, that was pre-Internet, there were simply not nearly as many avenues to sell crap then as there are now. Throw in the cheap manufacturing capabilities that exist overseas today, and there is absolutely no comparison.
