In his comments yesterday, Boren said they would evaluate expansion candidates on three criteria: 1-Fan base, 2-"the size of their programs" and 3-"the academics of the institutions." So in order to speed things along, I've gone ahead and done some analysis of likely schools for Mr. Boren and the Big 12 based on those three categories, and (surprise, surprise), BYU comes out way ahead based on the things they will be looking at:

I probably should have included year-end top-25 basketball rankings, but I couldn't find an easy way to look it up and I'm lazy. "BB Tourney" above is the number of times the school has been to the tournament.)
