That combination would deliver the most value in terms of a TV deal with ESPN and FOX and for Big 12 Network inventory. But, can negotiate a partial payout for Navy and Air Force.

Navy keeps its Olympic sports in the Patriot League (like the status quo with the AAC) and Air Force keeps Olympics sports in MWC (will get support from other Front Range MWC schools - and balances out Hawaii's MWC football only - MWC can add Rice, UTEP, and UTSA for all sports)

For football, UConn, BYU, and Navy consistently pull in some of the best non-P5 TV ratings - even in down years. Plus, bring the Notre Dame-Navy and Army-Navy game (and AFA-Navy and AFA-Army) to the Big 12 TV contract.

And, UConn and BYU are #1 and #2 for academics - ahead of most Big 12 schools. Navy and Air Force have national respect.

9-game schedule: 6 divisional, 3 cross-division (play everyone at least once in 2-3 years).

Stack the schedule so that Kansas, KSU, ISU, TCU, Baylor, and Tech get either Texas or Oklahoma EVERY year.

Also, stack the schedule so that one of Texas or Oklahoma plays in New York (UConn) and Washington DC (Navy) market annually.
