There were at least 3 times last game that he should have taken it to the rim but instead is looking to toss it outside. I agree, it seems there is a concerted effort to try to add up assists, at the detriment at times of the team, and when he needs to take over. Rebounds, I'm fine with...go for it, and at times he's been a monster.
I actually love a coach that gives a green light, but there are many times where the shots taken are terrible. The Hartstock three was terrible yesterday, and yes that's poor coaching. The fact that they were trying to shoot threes yesterday when twos would have gotten them back into the gam and the fact that they were shooting a poor percentage, that's poor coaching IMO. The fact that they go into Davis and get easy buckets, because Pacific wouldn't double down, and then fail to go back to him, or someone hucks up a difficult 3 is poor coaching. Good coaching IMO is when players recognize what works and go back to it, or know what to do during certain game situations. There are times when the team gets down and Chase or Emery try to be heroes and get it all back by taking difficult threes. Incredibly frustrating to watch especially when it's NOT just happening in one game.
