I'm not disappointed. I agree with what you said. But if you don't think Taysom will be running the read option under Detmer you are in for a surprise. That's what Taysom does. A read option QB he is. If you honestly expect Detmer to run a traditional west coast or more a of a pro style offense (which isn't unreasonable), and you think Taysom will beat Tanner out if he is forced to stay in the pocket, you are in for a rude awakening. The two QB's are both exceptional, but different. Taysom doesn't have a chance against Tanner if he is forced to sit in the pocket and mentally break down a D. If Taysom stays and wins the battle, he will run the read option. That's why Detmer wants to know his plans by spring ball.
