My wife and I are discussing where we want to live in the future. My wife's from Utah and I'm from Hawaii. I would rather live away from both of our families, mainly because I think it'd be cool to develop our identity as a new family. I genuinely like my family and my in-laws. Like most wives, my wife wants to be close to family. Assuming my career prospects are better elsewhere, would you suggest trying out a new place for a while?
