When you are young, take advantage of moving around. You possibly could
move back. Go explore and gain that identity. Something I preached to BYU students when I recruited for a large manufacturing company in the Midwest. Go and explore. I've lived in Illinois, Missouri, NC, NV and now Washington. I'm done moving. We are far away from my parents (14 hours driving) and close enough to my in-laws (2.5 hrs driving). Especially take advantage of this if a company will relocate you. I've never paid for a move since graduating college over 10 years ago. Now some professions don't have that luxury but if yours does, test the waters.
