Of course I see the self-interest of the City/NYPD in telling their viewpoint.
Without a doubt the City of New York and the NYPD have an interest in defending the actions of the Police and the District Attorneys who prosecuted these cases. So there is that bias built into the Armstrong Report, and I certainly recognize that.

However, the same is true for the other point of view. This has been a highly politicized, controversial and polarizing case since the arrests happened. From early on, there have been numerous people and interest groups advocating for the Defendants' innocence, and condemning the Police for allegedly coercing confessions out of these kids. All those people and groups also have very strong self-interests, agendas, and biases that influence the story they tell.

I feel like I've listened to both sides of the story and weighed the interests, biases and agendas of all the storytellers. After doing so, it's just my opinion that the Defendants probably participated in the attack on the jogger, even if they themselves didn't have intercourse with her. I think I'm right, but of course I can't know for certain (none of us can). You don't have to agree with me. But lots of other reasonable people do agree with me, and that was really my point.
