Carl McGown
Carl McGown is among the many reasons BYU is great. Carl McGown was a very strong coach that launched the BYU volleyball program. He was very involved with USA Volleyball, the Olympics, etc... He was able to coach a winning program as soon as BYU became a Division I program. He recruited Millar, Antonetti, Hinds, and a few others that won the first national championship. Before that, he had Hugh McCutheon (Gold Medal winning USA Volleyball coach) and other greats. He also recruited internationally with success.

The Smith Field House crowds were loud, obnoxious, and it was a great event. Who would not want to play for that crowd?

There are a lot of reasons why BYU is great. Coach McGown establishing this power house is one of those reasons.
