Ice it to get inflammation down
Every other day is probably a better idea, or at least not 3 straight.

As for me, I got sick of my outside runs tearing me down and not being able to walk for 3 days. I'm biking, treadmill, and calisthenics/ weights now and am much tighter. Running outside makes you hungrier too.
