Other suggestion might be to do HIIT for cardio. I basically
Run 2 miles 4 times a week. I never do more than two miles. Less wear and tear on the joints. I alternate sprinting for a minute, then jogging for a minute. Total time about 20-25 minutes. It's basically condensing a 60 min workout into 20 min, and you don't have to worry as much about high mileage pounding on the joints.
