Love this! Great work! It's seeming to become
more and more obvious that the big 12 must be thinking the following:

"If we expand, BYU is the obvious choice based on tradition, fanbase, TV eyes, prestige, overall quality of athletic department, etc. However, are they worth the headache of their uniqueness (own TV network, no Sunday play, rigid affiliation with the LDS Church, etc)?"

I'm a BYU fan so I can readily brush off these quirky things about BYU, the problem is that others don't have our perspective. From THEIR point of view, BYU is clearly the team with the most pros AND the most cons (or the most question marks if you will).

This is a scary place to be. It would be very easy for decision makers to simply set BYU to the side based on fear of the unknown. People who do their homework, thoroughly exploring all different possibilities and considering ALL perspectives, will likely want to include BYU because of how much they would add to the Big12.

Those who do not do complete due diligence and approach it in somewhat of a lazy way, will find it easy to say, "Let's just avoid any potential headaches. BYU is not an option." I'll be honest, there are times when I think this way - "How can we just avoid big potential problems?" That's why this scares me so much. We are truly a unique institution and people really don't understand us.

So, it is critical that data like these are shared widely. Do the work others are too lazy/scared to do. Thanks Bama Coug.
