I understand OU's concern about LHN because they would take away some high school recruits by showing some high school games. However, we don't use our network the same way and our recruits are either in Utah or LDS with a smattering of others mixed in. While I don't think BYU will give up their digital broadcasting facilities, I do think they could reach an agreement to broadcast Big12 games on some additional channels they have available. I think we could help with their network problems and would be much easier to work with than the LHN. The only stickler would be the beer commercials and if they had some partition that belonged to the Big12, then they might even have a workaround with that. The beer commercials would be negotiated and shown as part of the Big12 and not BYU. Perhaps that could be wrong, but I do see us as way more helpful than the LHN. I see this as a problem of perception. I don't think we'd be recruiting the same base recruits and would let them show games using our network.
