One area of smack talk against BYU is that our apparel sales aren't top 25. Texas has been the top dog in this for a decade now, Alabama has been #2 for recent years.
Maybe sombody posted this data from a IMG/CLC Press Release back in December, but it had this interesting quote in contained:
Officially licensed product for BYU is now sold at more than 883 retail locations, an increase of more the 100 percent since 2013, says CLC.
What do you think has led to this increase? Anecdotally, I remember being at a Gas Station in Las Cruces, NM and seeing them selling hats for Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, UNM, NMSU, BYU, and Notre Dame. I found it interesting that there were NO hats being sold for PAC12 schools despite being not terribly far from Arizona.
Oh, and gear count on my Alaska Cruise so far:
BYU (4 ... what can I say, I rep the Y and dress my kids right), Texas (3), Alabama (2), Iowa (2), Oklahoma (1) Penn State (1), Indiana (1), Wisconsin (1), Notre Dame (1), Auburn (1), Utah/USU/BSU/All other PAC12 & WCC teams ... ZERO.
