I remember the whole scenario, thanx. But ultimately Mr Harmon's prediction was
NOT right.
And he was a LOOOOOOT closer to that situation than to this one.
My point was to remind people the value of a press-generated prediction. Yes, Dick has been wrong plenty of times. So have many others who fanned meager flames with their press predictions.
My problem isn't so much with Dick's sources--it's 99% with Dick's method of promulgating "news." And, yes, he's hardly alone in his profession in that regard. But his hitting percentage on the predictions sure strikes me as rather low, even by the bad percentages of his profession. And he therefore deserves some criticism by those of us who've been 'round the block with him, IMO.
